Dental Assisting Chairside Certification Exams

After satisfactorily completing our Dental Assisting Chairside course, students are eligible to take the Radiation Health and Safety Exam (RHS), Infection Control Exam (ICE), and Anatomy, Morphology and Physiology Exam (AMP) through DANB. Upon passing these exams, students receive a certificate of competency in each area. After completing 300 hours of work experience as a dental assistant, you are now eligible to apply for NELDA certification.

South Carolina: After a student has satisfactorily completed our Dental Assisting Chairside course and passed the Radiation Health and Safety Exam (RHS) exam through DANB, they will receive a certificate of competency. That certificate is recognized by the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), allowing students to place and expose radiographic films in a dental office.

Georgia: Students that satisfactorily complete our Dental Assisting Chairside course, including the radiology training sections, are eligible to operate dental x-ray equipment.

North Carolina: Palmetto School of Career Development in on the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners list of approved radiology courses. Students that satisfactorily complete our Dental Assisting Chairside course, including the radiology training sections, are eligible to operate dental x-ray equipment.

Medical Administrative Assistant Certification Exams

Students that satisfactorily complete our Medical Administrative Assisting course are eligible to take the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant Exam (CMAA) offered through the NHA. You can register for this exam by contacting your Career Advisor.

Medical Billing and Coding Certification Exams

Students that satisfactorily complete our Medical Billing and Coding course are eligible to take the Certified Billing and Coding Specialist Exam (CBCS) offered through the NHA. You can register for this exam by contacting your Career Advisor.

Pharmacy Technician Certification Exams

Students that satisfactorily complete our Pharmacy Technician course are eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician Exam (ExCPT) offered by the NHA or the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) offered by the PTCB. You can register for the ExCPT or PTCE exam by contacting your Career Advisor. During the course, students receive assistance with becoming Registered Pharmacy Technicians in the State of South Carolina. Please note the “State Certification” is a separate process. Students pursuing “Certification” can do so after completing 1000 hours of practice under a licensed pharmacist (approximately 6 months working 40 hours per week).
